Left: the damaged item. Right: iron for iron, diamond for diamond, or another pickaxe for another pickaxe. Wood and shields refuse planks: same tool, or nothing. The result is a ghost until you press Ripara. The block does not chip.

Arcane Anvil
Repair. No experience. The vanilla anvil stays.
Why it exists
Craft it, put it down, click it. The piece on the left is yours. The slot on the right is the sacrifice: a repair material, or a second copy of the same tool. Confirm, and the anvil drinks lapis, amethyst, and emerald — never levels, never Too Expensive, never prior work.
What it does
One job: put durability back. Enchantments move only when you sacrifice a piece, not a nugget of ore. The vanilla anvil is untouched. You can still use it. This one sits beside it.
Every valid job: 1 lapis. If an enchantment is already on the result, or one is transferred or discarded from the sacrifice: +1 amethyst. If both pieces are enchanted: +1 emerald. Creative still pays the gems.
Empty book on top: leftover enchantments that would not fit. Empty book below: leftover curses from the sacrifice. Each book that fills costs one gold ingot. No books: leftovers vanish, and gold is not asked.
How it fits
Anvil-shaped recipe, vanilla anvil in the centre, lapis blocks, an amethyst shard, and emeralds. No chest loot. Numbers live in the server config. It does not replace the vanilla anvil. It does not require Enchantment Workbench.
