Seal of the Custodian

Bind an Iron Golem. Always know where it is.

Released Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge Client & server
A player holds the Custodian Sigil toward a bound Iron Golem in a village at sunset, with a holographic status overlay.

Why it exists

Own a specific Iron Golem — not “a golem somewhere near the base” — and check on it, find it, and pull it back when needed, without changing how it fights or moves.

What it does

Right-click a golem with the Custodian Sigil to bind it. Binding is tracked by UUID, not the name tag: binding again confirms the same record, and renaming never breaks the bond. Right-click empty air to open the Custodian screen: every golem you have bound, with a live 3D preview and current health.

Locate

A temporary overlay in the style of vanilla’s Locator Bar: name, direction, distance. Live distance while loaded; last known position while unloaded; exact place of death only from the death event. Unloaded is not presumed dead.

Safe recall

Teleports the selected golem to a safe spot near you. Never duplicates. Never moves two at once. Tries one chunk-load if needed. Does nothing rather than an unsafe teleport.

Vanilla-safe

Combat, pathfinding, spawning and despawning stay untouched. Unbound golems are not affected at all.

How it fits

Seal of the Custodian sits on top of vanilla golem behaviour, not in place of it. Seal of the Boundary can then give a bound golem a territory it will not wander past. The Pergamena del Custode is found in village weaponsmith chests.
